I really don't want to have to do this. But I'm kinda finding myself in a situation where I need to ask for help. As some of you know, I have been dealing with some health issues since August of last year. And it's taken me out quite a bit. I was out from work for almost all of August because of my health issues. At the time I was able to do it because my insurance was taking care of most of the stuff and I was just having a deal with small amounts for my co-payments, but it's brand new year, so obviously just like everybody else who has insurance, you guys know that everything resets itself for the new year. So we have to meet our deductibles before insurance starts kicking in to pay for our treatments or medical expenses. I have not been feeling well since last week. I've been dealing with some very ugly pains in my abdomen again. So I went to the doctor on Thursday and he ran some blood work and he also wanted me to do a CT scan as well as an MRI to help figure out what is going on. unfortunately, again because of the insurance requirements, they're asking for $450 for the copay, before they'll perform the scans. Unfortunately I don't have that money. I live alone. I pay everything on my own. I have my rent that I have to to deal with. I have utilities that I have to deal with. Being that I work from home, I have to have my internet, so it's not a luxury, it's requirement that I have internet service for my job. And I know that everybody has there own stuff that they have to worry about. But I'm just asking for a hand up. I work. I have a full-time job. I just find myself in the situation where I may need to be out from work while I'm trying to get everything sorted out for short time disability. Again, being that I live alone, I don't have someone else to help with living expenses. I made the decision to return to work on Tuesday, because my rent will be due next paycheck. Being that I was out the majority of last week, I had to sign up for quite a bit of overtime, just to not fall behind on my rent and other bills. I shouldn't really have gone back to work in my state, but I just can't afford to be without income while I'm waiting on an outcome for my disability claim, and also depending on what the outcome is of an emergency room visit that I'm planning on making, if my condition worsens... it's been extremly overwhelming.
My employer has also changed how they distribute our PTO, so it's no longer preloaded at the beginning of the year, so I've already exhausted whatever PTO I had left while I was out last week, unfortunately.
If you can help, thank you. If you can share, thank you. I'm just asking for a little help for this until I'm physically better to get back to my normal self.
