Why We Cosplay A Documentary
Our goal is to educate the world regarding what Cosplay is, what it means to people, and how it has affected people both good and bad.
Why ask for this amount of money? Based on how much is donated will determine how far this project will go. We would like to reach the goal and be able to produce a high quality documentary on Cosplay and how it has affected people.
We currently have basic equipment to get started, but would need higher end equipment down the road.
Equipment needed:
- Mobile studio, at this time no actual studio space will be rented out allowing us to keep costing down.
- Extra camera(s)
- Wireless microphones
- Light kits
- Studio backdrops
- Yearly domain names
- Monthly web hosting
- Limited Crew/Staff
- Promotional items:
Business Cards
Street team flyers
- Passes to attend conventions to interview new cosplayers (assuming a press pass can not be aquired)
- Travel expenses to a from conventions
- Other items

Showcasing why people cosplay:

Webseries as well as other videos and pictures will be posted here.
For later on down the road.
Showcasing individual cosplayers:
WhyICosplay.com, .net, and .org
Each Photo shoot includes us interviewing you one on one. Some footage will make it into final product either in the web series or on the DVD/Blu-Ray.
Photo/Video shoots for 50 US states are priced based on if convention is in the area at the time of shooting or if we will have to make a separate trip to fly out and meet you. Price varies per trip so feel free to contact me and I will give you a price!
*Price subject to change based on travel rates and taxes for agreed upon timeframe. Refunds are available only if pricing would go up on travel costing more than person is willing to pay.
We will not discriminate, we welcome all genders, shapes, sizes, and ethnicities.
GoFundMe will take the following out of our budget:
GoFundMe will deduct a 5% fee from each donation we receive. WePay charges 2.9% + $0.30 per donation.
