Why Did Three Chickens Cross the Pond?

To Get Back to the Edinburgh Fringe!
(Please read bolded section below before donating)
Last year, we launched a GoFundMe to help bring our play, Three Chickens Confront Existence, to the Edinburgh Fringe. Thanks to your incredible support, we had a sold-out month-long run, earned glowing reviews, and were featured on the cover of The Sunday Scotsman. None of that would have happened without your generous support.
Now, we’ve been invited back – this time to a theater twice the size, and a prime time slot, which is a huge opportunity to take the play to the next level.
Why We're Fundraising Again – and for Less
We want to be upfront: We were hesitant to launch a second campaign. Last year was the first (and only) time we’d ever crowdfunded for something like this, and the support we received was overwhelming. But this return to Edinburgh isn’t just a rerun—it’s a pivotal next step for the play and everyone involved, one that we hope will lead to a more substantial run in New York or London.
This time, our goal is $22,000—that's $13,000 less than last year.
Because the show already exists—sets, costumes, and creative marketing materials are covered. We just need help getting the team back to Edinburgh, supporting venue fees, advertising, and giving the play its best shot at a future life beyond the festival. And thanks to an anonymous donor, early contributions will be doubled with a match for the first $5,000.
PLEASE NOTE: A certain crowdfunding platform whose name rhymes with "bro-shun-me" has made some changes since last year that make us uncomfortable.
The lowest suggested donation is $200 which is ridiculous and unfortunately we can't change that. We're grateful for ANY amount you write in. Also there's a sliding percentage preset for "a tip" to this certain platform that is way too high and can be easily reset to zero. Please check this slider before contributing.
Your support will go directly toward:
- Venue and tech costs
- Travel and housing for the team
- Marketing and PR to grow our audience and industry visibility
- Donor match
What You're Supporting
This isn’t just a dark comedy about three chickens contemplating mortality (though, yes, it still is that). Last year, the show resonated so deeply with audiences and critics that we had lines around the venue and had to turn people away with daily signs that said “sold out.” If you contributed last year, thank you for making that amazing run possible.
This year, we’re ready with a bigger venue and more refinements to the story to make it an even better experience for all. If you’re able to support again, or to help us spread the word, it would offer us the boost we need to truly make our mark on Edinburgh and beyond.
