Our parents were in a serious car accident on May 20 where the car flipped and they had to be cut out of it, thanks to the NNFD who saved their lives that day. Mom broke her femur and 2 ribs and Dad had a severe brain bleed and a traumatic brain injury that required a major brain surgery and he also had 4 broken ribs. They have both made it to a rehab facility, but unfortunately Dad's insurance has been cut off and we had to pay out of pocket to keep him there because of the level of care he needs. Just when Dad was doing better, he was rushed back to Riverside Hospital (June 18) because of severe sluggishness. Well, his brain bleed was leaking and required another procedure to seal that artery in his brain. The medical bills are piling up and we desperately need to help them. They won't be able to go home alone after rehab, so we are trying to help them transition to assisted living. They are both 81 years old and have been married for 58 years and have spent their lives helping others!
