Medical Bills for Brittany

My sister Brittany and her husband need your support.

In 2016, Brittany was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, had her thyroid removed, and underwent radiation treatment. She also began taking life-sustaining synthetic thyroid hormones since her body no longer produces them naturally.

At her 5-year checkup in 2021, Brittany was declared in full remission. That same year, she married Shaun, and they started their new life together in Pensacola, Florida. Because of moving away from her doctors and aging out of our parents insurance, Brittany began to ration out her thyroid medication. A bout of COVID in January followed by the flu in February wrecked havoc on her already-weakened body.

Brittany has been sick for months and is now in the ICU at Sacred Heart with heart failure complicated by weak kidneys and liver. The doctors are still trying to determine whether extreme hypothyroidism or the viruses caused the heart damage. She is gravely ill and has a long recovery ahead.
