Hello, my name is Kiara,

I’m fundraising for my mother so she can afford her insulin pump and everyday medical expenses that she needs to have to survive.

Let me tell you a bit about my beautiful mother Toni, she has had a rough few years ever since being diagnosed with uncontrollable diabetes and by uncontrollable, I mean her sugar levels never stay stable with her having coeliac disease and being lactose intolerant, it makes it difficult to keep level as carbs are what keeps sugars at a stable reading.

Her life is tumbling before our eyes, she has undergone multiple surgeries due to getting abscesses in her stomach causing her to go septic shock and putting her body into a coma for 5 days. Due to her weak immune system she has lost one and a half of her toes and now is losing her 3rd toe (as we speak), she is needing a transplant as her pancreas and kidneys are sitting on 5% and she needs to go to dialysis three times a week costing her over $500 week for transport as she’ll never be eligible for a license and can never get a job to cover the costs of her medical bills and rent due to her ongoing issues with her conditions. She has seizures almost daily her sugars dropping to as low as 1 causing her to go unconscious and lack oxygen to the brain leading to serious injuries. She’s experienced 3 heart attacks in the past with having nerve damage from her waist down. She cannot even go grocery shopping alone or do daily tasks that involve walking around for a long period of time.

Toni cannot live a normal life with every going on in her. It is causing her to be depressed with what has happened to her and not being able to help my own mother is gutting. We have made appointments with NDIS and other organizations in hopes for some support however they can’t help!

So, this is my last resort to help my mum! To help her be able to live her life as the only life she knows is in and out of hospital.
