Hello! My name is Gregory Bays, and I am the faculty sponsor for the STEM Club at Wauconda High School in Wauconda, IL. As a school, we are extremely honored to announce the creation of a STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) Club. The club will give our students the ability to discuss, utilize, experience, and interact with many topics discussed throughout classroom content in a personal hands-on manner.
The money that you choose to donate (thanks by the way!) would assist the STEM Club in multiple ways. First, the club has goals of participating in robotics, rocketry, and engineering competitions. Your donation would help pay for supplies, travel, and entry fees into these competitions. Second, the club has interest in helping our members gain experience in computer coding. With your donation, we will be able to purchase software and individual classes to assist these students in their interests. Third, the club would like to assist the members in gaining experience in engineering. Your donation would allow the club to take trips to different engineering firms and assist in the creation of an engineering open house. The open house night would give students the opportunity to meet and listen to engineers of different specifications. Fourth and most importantly, the STEM Club would like to assist and complete projects that will help WHS. For example, the club has already agreed to assist the Drama Department with engineering a couple of props for the fall musical.
