For the first time ever at William Howard School, selected students are taking part in Connections Festival. Connections is the National Theatre's annual, nationwide youth theatre festival. The programme has been established for 27 years with a celebrated history of championing the talent of young people from across the UK.
Students will work towards two performances at William Howard School in February and a performance at Theatre by the Lakes in Keswick. Members of Connections will visit one or both of the performances and select 10 schools to perform their piece at The National Theatre in London.
To give the students the best opportunity to succeed and be selected to perform in London we would like to work with professional technicians. We would also like to support students financially in travelling to Keswick theatre and hopefully London! To do this we would like to raise money by completing a 24hr Dance-a-thon!
Students will start at 4:30pm on Friday 6th January and each hour they will take part in a different dance style workshop delivered by staff and students.
We would all love your help in raising enough funds to make this performance a success and an opportunity of a lifetime for the students!
