My name is Nancy Oakes, Janine Walters has been my friend for over 40 years.  On December 4, 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She had surgery to remove her breast on January 13, 2016 with the false hope there would be no other treatment...she would have reconstructive surgery and she would be good.  But that was not the case on January 26, she learned that she has to have chemo and infusions for the next year, along with therapy drugs to follow, because of the two types of cancer she tested positive for if not treated it can go somewhere else in her body.  She has worked her whole life and has given her gift of music to so many people through the years, playing with her band, playing benefits and even funerals for so many people.  Janine gives so freely and openly to anyone in need.  Now it is time for us to give back to her during this time of need.  The last thing Janine needs to worry about is money and if you know Janine this will eat her up not to be able to pay her way in this world. So, I am asking anyone to donate anything that you can.  There is going to be a benefit on April 23, 2016 at the Electrical Union Hall on Basin Road, New Castle, DE.  There will be lots of wonderful bands playing in honor of Janine that day along with food you can purchase and a cash bar.  The tickets for this event will be $20.00 each.  Anyone that cannot make it can donate here or anyone that is coming but would like to donate more it is greatly appreciated.
