Anyone who knows Mark and Rosie should know that they are wonderful people, always advocating for others, hardworking, and endlessly invested in their community.
Now it’s time for the community to give back to them. Rosie has been dealing with serious and ongoing health issues, which are causing a stream of medical bills to pile up faster than they can manage.
Mark has been looking for a new job with good benefits, but they really could use our help in the meantime. Medical bills alone have been adding up to thousands every month.
Per Rosie:
”While we’ve been trucking along these last few years after my chronic kidney disease diagnosis, keeping our head above water with all of the medical bills, it’s finally gotten to a point where we’re struggling a lot with our finances.
Even after my employer insurance (which is pretty good coverage), my dialysis bills come out to $1600 a month after insurance has paid their portion. That is more than half of my monthly paychecks.
I qualify for Medicare, but Medicare doesn’t cover any portion of dialysis until you’ve been on it for 3 months, and even then it is not fully covered.
Sadly, I still have a few surgery bills from getting my dialysis port before being able to start dialysis, and I still have multiple other doctors I see every month outside of dialysis (kidney doctor, primary care doctor, podiatrist, and psychologists along with additional appointments for getting on the transplant list).
Outside of our normal monthly bills, and the prices of everything going up over the last few years, plus all of the monthly medications I take and other equipment that I need - Mark and I are struggling.
At the end of April, Mark graduates from Eastern and is already looking for jobs that would give him equivalent pay to mine currently and good health insurance. If you have any leads in computer programming type fields for entry positions, please let us know!
If you feel so inclined, any donations to this fundraiser would go directly to medical bills, past and current, medications, and any future equipment or surgeries I need to have.
If you can’t donate but would like to share to spread the word, that helps a ton as well!”
Please consider helping relieve this amazing couple from their hardship. Thank you so much.
