Please help Little Bit Wildlife Rescue through the storm
Tax deductible
Hurricane season is here again—and it’s predicted to be even worse than last year, when we were hit by two major storms. For Little Bit Wildlife Rescue, hurricanes don’t just bring rain and wind. They mean:
• Weeks-long power outages
• Washed-out roads
• Gasoline shortages
• Downed trees and damaged roofs
• And hundreds of animals in need of rescue and care
We urgently need your help to install a whole-rescue generator system. This upgrade will allow us to keep running without interruption during power outages—which are inevitable during storm season.
Why This Matters:
When the power goes out, we lose access to:
• Our well system (which provides water for cleaning cages and fresh drinking water which is vital for the animals)
• Refrigeration for the animals food and medications
• Incubators for newborn wildlife
• Microwaves for preparing the baby animal’s formula and air conditioning for young animals living inside our rescue building
• And so much more that’s essential to animal survival and comfort
Our animals depend on these systems to survive. Temperatures in Central Florida often soar into the high 90s with extreme humidity during storm season. Without power, it becomes dangerously hot and unsanitary—for both the animals and us.
We currently rely on small, portable generators. They help us keep a few critical systems running, but they aren’t enough. We currently can’t power our well with a generator. Additionally, managing gasoline, extension cords, and manual switching during storms is risky, exhausting, and unsustainable.
A 24KW whole-rescue generator system will:
• Safely power the entire facility automatically during outages
• Keep fresh water running, keep fridges with medications cold, and incubators for newborns warm
• Make the rescue safer and more livable for the animals—and for us
We’ve started gathering quotes and researching requirements. According to building code, the minimum system we need includes:
• A 24KW Generac air-cooled generator
• 2 120-gallon propane above-ground tanks
• Automatic switch wired to our main panel
• Electrical and plumbing work, permits, and installation
• 10-year warranty
This is a big investment—but a vital one.
If you believe in our mission to care for wildlife in crisis, please consider donating to help us make this life-saving upgrade. Every dollar helps, and every share of this campaign brings us closer to our goal.
Thank you for helping Little Bit Wildlife Rescue stay strong and safe—no matter the storm.
