بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
As salaamu alaykum wa rahamtullaah wa baarakatu.
Will you help us bury Hamzah bin Jihad رحمه الله ?
You probably don't know him, but we do...
You probably never meet him, but we have...
You probably will not remember this moment, but we will...
So, why should you help us bury Hamzah bin Jihad رحمه الله ?
Because he is Muslim and our brother...
Because he accepted who he was, a servant of Allaah, just like we did...
Because he has returned to our Rabb just like we will...
Because he returned with Emaan, in shaa' Allaah, just like we hope...
What is important to us with all this?
We will be helping our brother who cannot help himself at this time...
We will be worshipping Allaah with this action in Ramadhaan...
During the last ten nights, the best ten nights of the year...
We will be helping with our Emaan and our wealth...
While we are fasting, praying, giving in charity, and doing other righteous deeds...
We will be helping return a servant to his Rabb as we have been guided to...
We will be helping bury our brother Hamzah bin Jihad رحمه الله
And who is Hamzah bin Jihad?
He was born Nathaniel Beasly in December 1992, He comes from a family were many are Muslims, wal hamdulillaah. He lived a majority of his life in the Washington DC Metropolitan area where a majority of his family still resides. He moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and then to Wilmington, Delaware to make a better life for himself and his family. He worked as a welder with Owens Steel for a year until the time of his death. He was close to his uncle, Muhammad Mashee, the famous travelling merchant, his aunt Jamela, who is spearheading this effort, and the rest of his family. He worked hard at cultivating his 7 year old son to be a better Muslim than he was. He worked hard to be a better Muslim and servant to his Rabb.
On Monday, May 11, 2020, following failed attempts to reach him by his family, the police made a welfare check at his Wilmington apartment to find him deceased. His cause of death is still unknown. He had recently been to the hospital suffering from pneumonia, but was sent home with a blood pressure of 200/100 and a "negative" C-19 test; this was a week before he was found deceased. Cause of death still classified as unknown. No trauma to the body or indications of malice, according to police and medical examiner. They said it seemed he was on his way to take a shower. They believed he died on Saturday, May 9, 2020. He was 27 years old.
We ask Allaah to forgive him for his shortcomings, make his questioning easy, his grave spacious, and his and our reckoning easy...Aameen.
The funeral expenses amount to $6000, which includes the funeral home fees and the burial plot. We want to ensure that all miscellaneous avenues and fees are covered including those from this effort with Gofundme. So, our goal is $6500.
This effort is in cooperation with the deceased's family. Our brothers at Masjid Ar Razzaq, Wilmington, Delaware will be aiding with funeral arrangements. He is currently being kept at the Wright Funeral Home at 208 East 35th Street, Wilmington, Delaware.
Our goal, in shaa' Allaah, is to bury him by, Monday, May 18, 2020 after 1pm and you can still help us make this happen, in shaa' Allaah.
So, we ask again, humbly, and by the Lord of the Kaba', WHO WILL HELP US BURY HIM...
May Allaah increase your provisions and accept from us and you our acts of worship.
This fundraiser is organized by Markaz Uthmaan bin Affaan, Washington, DC and on behalf of the family of the deceased.
