Creating a film of Whitewashed: the racism project

Help Creative Action Unlimited's production of Whitewashed: the racism project expand its reach!
Since its debut in October 2019, this original production has played to sold out houses throughout New York's Capital Region. Audiences have consistently described Whitewashed: the racism project as "compelling, powerful, necessary theater." Produced by Creative Action Unlimited, which is in its sixth year of creating theater that educates and inspires social change, performances of Whitewashed are being requested more often than we can manage, due to the limits imposed by covid-19 and the challenges of touring the show to other states.
But we have a solution! We are creating a FILM of Whitewashed: the racism project, in order to expand its reach. Audience members have repeatedly asked us to consider this option - and now we have all the artists in place and are ready to begin.
We need to raise $5,000 for filming and post-production. (We'll need an additional $5000 to pay artists so we'll be expanding our fundraising efforts to cover that expense.)
We are deeply committed to anti-racism, confronting white fragility and systemic oppression of Black people in this country. Our public performances have proven that Whitewashed is a valuable tool to educate, promote meaningful discussion and inspire concrete action. The time is NOW to amplify the message of the Black Lives Matter movement. Please join us in being part of the current wave of positive change!
