Funeral Costs for Sherrie Perron
Donation protected
Sadly, our friend and colleague, Sherrie Perron, passed away unexpectedly last week. She left behind a large family and many friends that loved her dearly.
Sherrie was well known to many and had a work network that stretched between White River, Elliot Lake and Queen’s Park. She had an extensive and long history in working with people and community resulting in positive and beneficial outcomes. Although her degree was in Business, for over three decades, her passion found her writing programs and funding proposals to both the Provincial and Federal Governments for the benefit of rural communities in Northern Ontario.
As White River’s Economic Development Officer, Sherrie was tasked with implementing the priorities of the community’s Strategic Plan. As a community driven document the number one priority in the plan was healthcare. Sherrie was instrumental in creating and submitting the successful proposal to fund the new Northern Neighbour’s Nurse Practitioner Led Clinic for White River and Pic Mobert.
Sherrie was employed by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as an Assistant to the M.P.P. She built relationships with the vast majority of Provincial Ministries and served the public of our electoral riding. More so, she assisted the Ministry of Finance in developing a Strategic Communication Plan. At the request of the Ministry of Child and Youth Services, she was involved in creating policy for Northern Ontario funding requests to better fit the unique needs of rural communities.
Sherrie was fond of saying “all the effort put out is really so worth it if you can make someone happy and make life a little easier.”
Sherrie has contributed so much to our lives, committees and communities, let us show our appreciation by assisting the family with a truly unforeseen expense. Please note that the beneficiary for these funds is Tina Forsyth, CAO for the Township of White River, who will be holding the funds in trust for the family of Sherrie Perron to be withdrawn at the family’s request
