This is a student film project, affiliated with the Oklahoma City Community College Digital Cinema Production program! Rasing funds for my capstone project, "White People Sh*t" to pay for production.

The Story

Stella drags her two roommates on a chaotic camping trip to fulfill her late grandmother’s dying wish, the three women try to survive the wilds—and each other—on a journey of healing and unexpected growth.

The story follows Stella, a young black woman who’s been working at her grandmother's side at her art gallery. Playing life safely, working on the weekdays, and partying on the weekends with her roommates. But when her grandmother suffers a sudden stroke, everything changes. On her deathbed, she makes Stella vow not to be consumed by her routine. In an attempt to honor her grandmother’s dying wish for her to "see the world," Stella drags her two roommates—career-focused, no-nonsense Molly and impulsive, sugar-daddy-hopping Rea—on a camping trip.

Characters:

Stella- Colorful, outgoing, and always down for a party, Stella works at her grandmother's art gallery, running the place confidently. After her grandmother's sudden death, she tries to make sense of her grief. Her coworker, Anna, invites her to a camping retreat, and she seeks out to find peace, purpose, and a little less tequila in her life.

Rea- With her impulsive, confident, and carefree attitude, Rea has mastered the art of the sugar baby hustle. She loves to get under Molly's skin as she brags about the luxury items she gets from the men she's with. As she spends time in the woods, she might come to admit her hidden insecurities.

Molly-Type A, silk-press sharp, and strictly no-nonsense Molly is laser-focused on building her career-- and has no time for distractions (especially romantic ones). She tries to control everything, and Rea is someone who cannot be controlled. They bicker often as Molly finds Rea's hustle distasteful. When she's forced into the woods with no wi-fi, she might learn to let go.

Sherry-Youthful at heart, and wrapped in bangles and bold colors, Sherry is Stella's biggest supporter. her passing leaves Stella not just to stand where she stood, but to go further. Her spirit lives on in every leap of faith Stella takes.

Anna-Stella's coworker- a biracial, all-zen woman who always finds peace in the little things. She is the one who suggests the camping trip to Stella, unknowingly setting the girls on a path toward personal growth.

At its core, this film is a love letter to Black women. It’s about choosing joy, feeling the wind in your curls, and knowing that you’re allowed to exist fully, just as you are. That we shouldn't refrain from having experiences that could bring us joy, because they are considered "white people sh*t".
