An introduction to my story
Hey to whoever finds themselves reading this, I'm starting this GoFundMe fundraiser to help me achieve a goal of mine that's derived from a dream. This dream has grown ten times in size since I was young and living in Zimbabwe, Africa watching all my favorite Hollywood films and thinking to myself "Thats what I'm meant to do". Now having the opportunity to move to the US to follow these dreams and grow my name as a filmmaker I'd like to introduce you all to me. My name is Keven Mema, a 19 year old Director who is behind this short film and I'm currently attending New York Film Academy, studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts and majoring in Filmmaking. This film will be apart of my second year intermediate film project that will help me fulfill the necessary requirements to graduate and obtain my degree in filmmaking. Hopefully you can help me bring to life this dream of mine like Frankenstein and his mad creator. Below I've added a brief character description of my main two characters:
- My short film centers around two main characters, the first being Ty. He is a young adult male somewhere in his early to mid 20's, a street dog who's looking for a place or someone to build a home with, bouncing from place to place stealing and scrapping together bits of change ends up finding himself at a split road of whether to reach for the stars and chase his dream of becoming an architect or continue down this hopeless road he's grown a comfort to. Coming straight out of the system as an orphan Ty finds trust hard to let in but all that changes when he meets....
- Mya, the complete opposite of Ty in every sense of the word is a young adult female somewhere in her early to mid 20's who longs for a connection with someone past money and materialistic possessions because of the life she was brought up in, were her parents barely say the words "I love you" and missing her birthdays for business related affairs. Being the only child in her family she craved attention from her parents but got none in return.
- The whole thing is all about a couple that find themselves in the epicenter of a house robbery where risks are high and love is on trial and debate whether or not their relationship is even worth it anymore.
The funds raised from this GoFundMe will be used for production purposes such as location, props and costume and a tone more things that will go on behind the scenes to help produce the best quality film and a positive set atmosphere for the crew and cast involved. It will mean the world to me for any sort of help to bring this passion project from a dream into reality as it will be the first of many more to come.
