Whitaker Family Fire Relief Fund

On Tuesday July 6 my brother, Ty, woke up to the smell of smoke. He went into the kitchen and saw that the house was on fire. My brother and his family were able to get safely out of the residence without serious injury however, despite the prompt response of the fire department, their home and the contents within were a total loss.

My brother and his family are currently displaced and are in need of basic necessities. My sister-in-law, Mary Katherine, had ankle surgery the Friday before the fire and is currently unable to work.

While we are thankful that everyone is safe, we know that navigating the next few days and months will be a tremendous challenge especially with two young children. Building a new life, starting entirely from scratch will not be easy, but it is made less hard by the outpouring of support we've already received from the community.

The darkest times most often are short lived and made brighter by the kindness, compassion, and beauty revealed in the hearts of others.
