The Situation: A Race Against Time
Whispa is a beautiful, gentle horse who was recently rescued from a life of severe abuse. Just as she was finally safe at Lucy’s yard, tragedy struck. Whispa suffered a fracture in her leg, and a severe, aggressive infection has taken hold. Her leg is now massively swollen with a weeping abscess. Because her previous abuser messed up her horse passport, her loving new owners, Katie Hall and her mum Joanne Hall, have been completely blocked from getting the insurance she desperately needs.
An Unbreakable Bond Katie is only 15 years old, but she has done something truly miraculous—she has made this deeply traumatised horse trust humans again. The bond between Katie and Whispa is absolutely beautiful to witness. Katie and her single mum, Joanne, are completely dedicated to her survival. They are at the yard every single day from 5am until 10pm, working tirelessly to keep Whispa comfortable, clean, and loved.
The Crisis: Last Chance Saloon
Thousands of pounds have already been spent on different antibiotics, but nothing is working, and the infection keeps taking over. Joanne is a single mum who is already spending money she simply does not have just to keep this horse alive. Today, she had to find another £500 out of pocket for a "last-chance saloon" round of alternative antibiotics. Whispa is fighting with everything she has, but this family is at their absolute financial and emotional limit.
If these new antibiotics do not clear the infection, Whispa will die.
The Goal: Funding a Life-Saving Operation
If the medication fails, Whispa’s only remaining choice is an emergency operation costing between £4,000 and £6,000. While recovery is not guaranteed, it is her only shot at life. Without this surgery, the only option left will be to put her down to end her suffering.Katie and Joanne have given every penny and every ounce of energy they have, but they cannot do this alone. Humans broke Whispa’s trust in the past—but 15-year-old Katie showed her that people can be kind.
Now, we need the community to step up and help this single mum save her daughter's horse. Every single pound goes directly to Whispa’s emergency veterinary fees. Please help us give this beautiful rescue horse the future she was robbed of.
Please give whatever you can and if you cant donate please share share share this.
