Whiskey needs a new hip
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
The beautiful dog in the picture is Whiskey, my sweet and goofy, Bernese Mountain Dog.
Whiskey is a little over 1-years-old and I have recently learned that she has hip dysplasia and arthritis in her right hip. Upon further investigation, X-rays and a trip to an orthopedic surgeon, it turns out this sweet girl needs hip replacement surgery.
This news, as you can imagine, was devastating for a multitude of reasons. No one ever wants their pet to go through surgery or be in pain. For me, I am not a mother, well when I say that, I mean I don't have human children. I never will, so for me, my dogs are my children. They're my fur-babies.
So, you can imagine how much harder it is for me to know that, due to COVID, and the fact that my business has suffered tremendously because of it, and I am barely scraping by and this surgery is over $10,000.
Without the surgery Whiskey's quality of life will begin to deteriorate and eventually it will be hard for her to walk. This CANNOT happen.
There is NOTHING I wouldn't do for my dogs so, of course, I'm trying to scrounge together every penny I have to pay for this surgery. I am job hunting, applying for everything I am even slightly qualified to do but it's not easy and it may not come soon enough. Her insurance won't cover it because it's considered a "pre-existing condition," because it's genetic.
I know times are tough for everyone, but if there is anything you can spare, just know it is immensely appreciated.
It's a lot to ask, so please don't feel pressured if you want to but can't. We love you all the same!
