If you have visited Whiskers Cat Cafe you know we are all about the cats. Everything we do is designed around the health and happiness of our resident cats and our 20+ adoptable cats. Our mission is to provide homeless cats with the best possible life while they are here and then match them with their best possible forever home. We know a lot of small businesses are struggling right now and we are no different.
We have only been open for business for 16 months. In that time, we have matched 275 cats with adopters. Our unique matchmaking process is changing the way people adopt cats and giving people the opportunity to adopt a cat who completes their family. We have found loving homes for three blind cats, a couple of tripods, several cats who have survived life threatening trauma, and we have housed two hospice cats.
This work is our heart and our soul. We are applying for every small business grant and loan available to us to make sure we open for business as soon as possible. We will continue to help our shelter partner, Kansas City Pet Project, even though our doors are closed. We need your help to keep a roof over their heads, water in their bowls, litter in their boxes, food in their mouths... and we want to make sure the staff members have all these things as well (minus the litter in the boxes, of course).
We love our community and we look forward to expanding our outreach. We love every minute living our dream. We love meeting our guests and being a part of their life story. In the past year, we have been a part of blind dates, first dates, birthdays, vacations, marriage proposals, bachelorette parties, and nursing home outings. We have even been blessed to provide comfort for someone's final wishes and a celebration of life party. A special thank you to everyone who has already donated via Venmo and PayPal- we appreciate and please understand that every cent counts. There are so many memories left to make with your support.
