Whiskers Cat Rescue and Rehoming

Hello Everyone,

Whiskers Cat Rescue and Rehoming is a small, independent, non profit cat rescue based in

Newcastle upon Tyne.

The rescue comprises of a team of fourteen dedicated volunteers, which includes eight fosterers who give so much time and dedication looking after the rescued cats and kittens until their forever loving home can be found.

Funds are raised by donations from our wonderful supporters and fundraising events. All money raised goes directly to the care of the cats and kittens by way of veterinary treatment, neutering, microchipping, feeding, cat litter , worming, flea treatment and providing essentials like bedding and toys.

The cost is never ending.

Having twenty four cats and kittens in our care at anyone time does take its toll financially.

Recently, such one occasion is the reason why we need support. On Wednesday 18th June we received a call from another at rescue asking for help regarding a litter of seven, ten week old kittens who were in dire need to be rescued.

It would be inappropriate to comment as to why therm was such an urgent appeal but thankfully all seven kittens were handed into our care. The kittens were flea ridden and under nourished but are now enjoying lots of TLC from their foster mum.

Rescue work is never ending and always emotionally and financially a struggle.
