In March of 2020, with the onset of challenges for the performing arts industry, I instantly became interested in supporting a field and profession that, in a myriad of ways, reminds us that we must attend to the WHOLE person: body, mind, and spirit. This story and campaign stems from wanting to employ dancers and support live dance in a nontraditional venue. 100% of proceeds will go to the dancers' stipends, costumes, and travel to Houston, TX.
The outdoor event is slated for June 3rd and 4th of 2021, where WhirlWind Dance will have its inaugural performance. Your support will ensure that the select group of dancers will have a solid, well-rounded contract for the month of May. The mix of dance and nature will come together in my first evening length show - "A Breath of Fresh Air." The support of all funds at this time will solidify contracts for the dancers and allow me to organize the group and give them enough notice to plan for this opportunity.
The show will allow for conversation between works; something that I think is lacking in traditional theater venues. The lighting will be determined by the sunset and patio style vibes. Cocktails and food will be available for purchase. The evening will consist of several award winning works and will also include the curation of a new work. The inclusion of younger pre-professional dancers will ensure that generations of dancers will be inspiring one another. Here are links to the works being restaged:

A little bit about me:
My name is Joshua Manculich and I am choreographer based in Houston, TX. I was born in Windber, PA – started dance at the age of fourteen. I had the pleasure of performing with Thodos Dance Chicago, Chicago Repertory Ballet, Pursuit Productions, Jaxon Movement Arts, Jessica Miller Tomlinson, and The Pillow Project.
My choreography has been toured internationally by Collage Dance, DanceWorks Chicago, Eisenhower Dance Detroit, and The Ohio State University. In 2015, I was nominated for a Princess Grace Choreography Fellowship by The Big Muddy Dance Company for which I eventually created “Lyra” through support of the Princess Grace Foundation. Other choreographic adventures include: Ballet Austin II, Dancing in the Parks, Dayton Contemporary II, Grand Valley State University, Houston Contemporary Dance Company, Indiana University, Interlochen, LITVAK Dance, Montclair State University, METdance, Piel Morena Contemporary Dance, Point Park University, Thodos Dance Chicago, Santa Barbara Dance Theater, University of Dayton, Western Michigan University, Whim W’Him.
I have a B.A. in Dance and Psychology Minor from Point Park University and a M.F.A. in Dance from The Ohio State University.
