ABOUT THE COMPANY

Hello! We are WhimsiCo, a female-led theatre company based in Bath who conjure stories, magic, and whimsy with collaborative and ensemble-focused theatre shows!

The heart of WhimsiCo has always rested in the wonder that storytelling can bring. We explored grief, love, identity, and growing up in trying times through poetry, music and prose with our debut show ‘Escape to Wonderland’. Our sophomore show, ‘Grimm’, delved deep into the forest and folklore in collaboration with folk duo Humm. Gothic dreams were born in our third professional theatre show, ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’, which saw a battle between loyalty and morality, and the blurring of the line between evil and good.

We return to dark fairytales, haunting folk music, and a tale of hope, unity and the power of ‘Once upon a time’ as we are thrilled to present ‘Grimm’ once more, coming to the Rondo Theatre in Bath this July!

ABOUT THE SHOW

“Somewhere, deep in the forest, someone wishes on a star…”

Every year, the creatures of the forest gather to pay homage to the two rulers, the Faerie King and the Forest Witch. They sing songs, tell tales, and wish on stars, in the hopes that one day the two will reunite.

With stories to tell, they gather tonight once more, to try to bring the two estranged lovers back together, and restore the forest to its former glory.

Our much-loved show, ‘Grimm’, is back in an all-new production, featuring music both new and old from the mesmerising folk duo Humm, combining long-forgotten traditions and celebrations with classic fairytales in a haunting ensemble-led show.

Funds raised will help us create the magic of the forest on stage, developing a truly wonderous and immersive world for this tale to be told within.
