Whim 'n Rhythm's 2023 Album and Recovery Fund

To our dear alumnae community and friends,

Whim is seeking aid to record and produce a 2023 album, as well as restore our starting fund after the financial stress of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are deeply grateful to our community for your support.

When COVID hit in 2020, many of the traditions and practices that Whim 'n Rhythm holds dear were disrupted. For several years, there was no world international tour, no gigging, no in-person rehearsing, no way to maintain a strong on-campus presence, and fewer opportunities for the group to make music and build friendships. Like many other performers and artists, Whim had a hard time making money and supporting ourselves.

Whim 'n Rhythm 2023 has had the pleasure, and the challenge, of working to re-institute all of the pre-pandemic ways of Whim. But we do so while struggling to make up a significant deficit from the past few years, when hardly any revenue could offset the cost of producing music as a group, much less support the group’s annual tours and album production.

One thing that Whim traditionally does is record a full-length album every year. This GoFundMe fundraiser covers the cost of recording, mixing and mastering our 2023 album while still restoring Whim's starting fund, getting us back on our feet and ensuring the financial success of future classes. An album this year will only be possible with help from our community. We would greatly appreciate any help you can give to helping Whim recover from the pandemic and move forward.
