Renee Franclemont of Corfu, mother of 4 children; Austin (29), Dakota (26), Montana (22), and Sawyer Mae (17)

After two years of dismissals by doctors and insurance, a large meningioma brain tumor was found. Although the tumor is benign, they were unable to remove all of it, causing concerns for its return. It was found on the lining of Renee’s brain, which then invaded her orbital region and grew into her sphenoid bone. She has suffered from headaches, vision loss, slurred speech, balance issues, and many more things. On Tuesday, September 2nd, she was scheduled for a biopsy to determine exactly what it was. Before she went in, 17 medical staff in her surgical room collectively decided it was better to remove it immediately with hopes that they removed the whole thing. She had a full brain craniotomy because of the placement of the tumor and trying to preserve the rest of her vision. They had to leave some of the tumor in her bone because it was too close to her optic nerve. In an attempt to remove the rest of the tumor, she will begin aggressive gamma knife radiation on Friday, September 19th. Since getting out of the hospital, she has needed around-the-clock care, including help bathing, feeding, walking, answering doctors' calls, and everyday life activities. She cannot be left alone. Her daughter Sawyer has started her senior year and is taking college classes. With her being at school and her sons working full-time, her daughter Montana and her boyfriend TJ have been staying with her for two weeks and many more incoming weeks to help her. This recovery time is expected to be up to a year, which means no driving and no work until cleared by doctors and brain and vision are fully healed.

She's always caring, positive, and funny. When she awoke from her surgery, the first thing she asked for was her kids, and the next question was if she missed the Buffalo Bills game ♥️
