On a day we will never forget, our lives changed forever. In May of 2025, my wife, my best friend, and my soulmate was diagnosed with terminal Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Not Stage 1. Not something caught early. Stage 4 from the beginning. We were told we may only have a year to a year and a half together. Those words changed everything. At first, I felt every emotion you can imagine — shock, anger, fear, sadness, and heartbreak. I kept thinking about everything we were supposed to do “someday.” The retirement plans. The adventures. The memories we thought we had decades to create. Our dream was simple: retire, buy an RV, travel, spend time with our children and grandchildren, see new places, and enjoy life together. But cancer doesn’t care about your timeline. After treatments, chemo, radiation, more treatments, and eventually a mastectomy, we realized something important: We couldn’t keep waiting for tomorrow. We needed to make today count. That’s when a crazy idea became a mission. I started seeing videos of people converting school buses into RVs — “Skoolies.” The more I watched, the more I realized this could be our way to take our dream and turn it into something bigger. My wife doesn’t just want to fight for herself. She wants to help others fighting the same battle. She wants to raise awareness, encourage early detection, share hope, and meet people who understand what this journey feels like. So we bought a school bus and started a mission: “Where’s Jo Jo?” — The Pink Bus Journey We are converting this bus into a traveling home on wheels so I can drive my wife comfortably on a 31-day journey through Alabama, Georgia, and Florida during Breast Cancer Awareness events. This isn’t just a road trip. This is our love story. It’s about spreading awareness. It’s about encouraging early detection. It’s about reminding people that life is precious. It’s about bringing hope to others while we continue praying for healing and more time together.

We purchased the bus using my retirement savings, and now we are beginning our 90-day conversion. But along the way, life has brought even more challenges. When Jo Jo stopped working because of cancer, we lost a major source of income. We lost one of our best health insurance coverages. Recent changes at my job have also affected our finances. We are asking for help — not because we want an easy road, but because we want to use the time we have left to create something meaningful. Every donation helps us: Convert the bus into a safe and comfortable RV Travel to Breast Cancer Awareness events Share Jo Jo’s story Spread the importance of early detection Help others feel less alone If you cannot donate, we completely understand. Sharing our story may be the greatest gift you can give. Please follow our journey as we build The Pink Bus and prepare for this unforgettable trip. We don’t know exactly how much time we have. But we do know this: We are choosing to live. We are choosing love. We are choosing hope. Thank you for being part of our journey. Where’s Jo Jo? — The Pink Bus Journey
