Hi, my name is Anthony Soto. I'm the director and co-writer of Where Are You Margaret May. I'm Ali Starr Goebel, the co-writer and actress playing one of our two lead characters, Lacy. Together, we have created a psychological thriller masterpiece that we guarantee will have your minds spinning, attempting to piece scattered crumbs we left for you throughout the film.

We have created a collection of visual references and elements that will be incorporated into our film and similar genres that Where Are You Margaret May encompasses.

Our main protagonist, Lacy, is an epileptic true-crime novelist who struggles with mental health issues stemming from years of built-up trauma and guilt. Alongside her struggles of self-deprecation, another main component we wanted to incorporate now more than ever is a story about forgiveness and coming to terms with one's sexuality. In the midst of discovering who she is as a person through her romantic relationship and her journey to accept and love herself comes a series of dark secrets, haunting memories, and horrific events that unfolded in her past she must now face.

Where Are You Margaret May will fuse drama and genre to create a truly unique piece of cinematic art. We aim to keep the audience guessing and on the edge of their seats through the last frame.

This intriguing film will be full of rich character and emotion, exploring the overall arching theme of love and loss in a unique universe. The imagery will be filled with cold and steely blues, radiant whites, and ethereal yellows, creating a harsh but dream-like experience. Framing will be composed deliberately with practical lighting enhanced by a light source. There will always be the element of water near and present.

The camera will act as an observer staying close on our characters, lingering on them as small details emerge, uncovering the whole – eagerly unraveling towards a climax where we are floored by the emotional payoff.

This story is a small part of a bigger feature film story we are eager to share. Where Are You Margaret May will give us the sense of what our whole story is about with subsequent and precedent characters and exploration to come. With your help, we can give our characters a voice and bring to the screen a truly unique film you have not seen before.
