Where It Happened (Short Film) by Raissa Reis

OVERVIEW
Raissa Reis (Hi-ee-sa Heys) is a writer and filmmaker from Framingham, MA. She is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. 

Where It Happened is a short film based on a real revenge fantasy. Raissa wrote the script in 2020 before the pandemic, and now that she has had some time to sit with the story, she has assembled a team of close friends (shout out to Shannon Little, Maya Alvarez and Michael Mannix) and new friends alike to bring it to life. She will direct the film.

DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Where It Happened is unlike any project I've ever written or worked on. At this point, it's my most ambitious and personal piece of art. The plot is as follows: Ruby was sexually assaulted by her best friend's dad as a child. In the process of working through her trauma, she decides to take matters into her own hands to make sure no one else suffers at the hands of her abuser (spoiler: she kills him). 

The only thing that stands between the team working on Where It Happened and the completion of this film is, of course, those dolla dolla bills. We've built our budget and in order to bring our dream vision to life, we need to raise $15K. That's right. Fifteen thousand. The money would primarily go towards compensating our cast and crew and renting gear, but also food on set, production design, film festival submission costs, and the list goes on!
