My name is Carla Weiss.

Judy Smith has been one of my very best friends for over 10 years. She is one of the kindest, most positive, and generous people I know - a true bright light in the world.

Tragically, Judy's life changed forever when she was viciously, brutally attacked by a dog while going about her day in service to others.

The attack left her with devastating injuries: her entire calf was torn off, she suffered deep wounds to her other leg, foot and heel, and rushed by ambulance to the Trauma Center.

In addition to her severe physical injuries, Judy is now living with PTSD and a TBI from this traumatic event.

Despite months of pain and suffering, her spirit remains unbroken. She is determined to be strong, but this brutal event has left her unable to cover the cost of therapies not covered by insurance. She also faces the ongoing expense of transportation to and from medical appointments. Judy's two beloved Golden Retrievers and her senior cat all require special food, medicines and frequent veterinary care - her senior dog is still recovering from surgery and she is making payments towards those bills.

Since the attack, Judy has not been able to work for nearly five months. Her savings are gone, her credit cards are maxed out, and the inability to return to full-time work has made even the most basic parts of daily life difficult.
