My name is Chiara I am an Italian midwife working in the UK.

In 2024, I spent 3 life-changing weeks in Bali as part of my MSc in Global Maternal Health, at Bumi Sehat.

At Bumi Sehat, I witnessed gentle births supported with compassion, cultural respect, and deep community care. No woman or family is ever turned away because they cannot pay. Birth is treated as sacred, and every mother is cared for with dignity and love.

Despite the incredible work of Robin Lim and the dedicated midwives, doctors, and staff, the centre faces ongoing shortages of essential supplies — including PPE, maternity items, and basic newborn equipment.

This March, I’m going back to Bali — and I’d love to return not just as a visitor, but carrying practical support with me.

I’m raising funds to purchase essential supplies that I will personally deliver to the clinic. Every donation, big or small, will directly support safe births and maternal care.

Thank you for helping me give back to a place that has shaped my journey as midwife and person— and continues to change lives every single day.

With gratitude,

Chiara
