"Where" A Documentary on Visually impaired individuals

Donation protected
Hey!

We are a group of four passionate filmmaking students from MetFilm School in London, and we are producing an experimental documentary about visually impaired individuals.

We would like to investigate/discuss the relationship between visually impaired individuals and swimming and how that could link to war. This intrigues us because usually we use vision to see underwater and ensure the direction of swimming.

Logline: Light urges to describe the world around us, but in the darkness, it becomes obscure sounds, touch, smells and feelings. Life goes on, all imaginations and memories are exposed.

Director’s Statement: Usually, visually-impaired individuals use other senses such as hearing and touch to compensate their loss of vision. However, could we use visual materials to portray their hearing and touch? This is going to be an experimental documentary discussing the relationship between visually-impairment, swimming and war. It will
be shot on both digital devices and Super 8 film - to a certain extent, aren’t film grains also a form of braille?

How You Can Help:
Any amount you can donate will help us bring this documentary to life. Even small contributions will make a big difference in helping us reach our goal. If you’re unable to contribute financially, we’d be so grateful if you could share our campaign with your network.

Here’s how your donations will be used:
Film Stock & Processing: £600
4 rolls of Super 8 film @ £150 per roll (includes purchase, processing, and scanning).
Travel Costs: £120
£10 per crew member per day × 4 crew members × 3 days for travel to interview locations.
Catering for the Crew: £120
£10 per crew member per day × 4 crew members × 3 days for meals.
Contingency: £100
For unforeseen costs that may arise during production.

By doing this project, we hope to raise awareness for visually impaired people in the society, especially in helping them to better cope with post-war symptoms.

Thank you for supporting our project and helping us share the stories of visually impaired individuals with the world!
