When You're Older is a coming-of-age short film set in Kansas City, created by a passionate team of filmmakers. Directed by Christy Ray Henry, production designer Lauren Schrader, and writer Kaitlin Gould, shot by Jackson Montemayor and produced by Cory Cullen, bringing together a talented group of artists who share a love for their city and its vibrant film community.

The story centers on Emma, a young woman who unexpectedly encounters a past flame. Through this chance meeting, Emma is forced to reflect on the complexities and nuances of young love, examining how her past relationship shaped her and how she has grown since. The film explores themes of growth, self-reflection, and the messy realities of relationships, with music playing a central role in the narrative. By focusing on Emma's journey, the film aims to capture the universal experience of looking back on youth with new perspective and understanding.

Funds raised will go directly toward supporting local Kansas City artists, covering location fees, equipment rentals, and essential production costs such as props, costumes, and food. The team is committed to working with local businesses and providing opportunities for local filmmakers to showcase their talent. Every contribution will help bring this heartfelt story to life and strengthen the creative community in Kansas City.
