Every day, people of all genders and ages are being trafficked for labor and sex. There isn’t a single part of our world where it’s not happening. The numbers are as staggering as they are sobering: right now, 40.3 million people around the globe are being trafficked.

Most trafficked people access health care while being trafficked. But, unfortunately, most health professionals and systems do not have the knowledge, training or skills to safely care for trafficked people.

HEAL Trafficking’s mission is to equip public health professionals, wherever they work, with the tools, knowledge and skills they need to provide trafficked persons with what they need most: healing and hope.

It is our job to make sure those who are delivering the care are trained to not only recognize trafficking when they see it, but they are able to humanely and safely respond in ways that protect dignity, show respect, and don’t inflame an already charged situation.
