As a proud alumni, parent, and aunt of players from this Championship football team, I,  Teresa Mitchell, a 1995 graduate of Leflore County High School, along with the parents and other supporters of this community am seeking your support to help honor this group of brave young men, who put an entire community on their backs and carried us all the way to the State Championship. This year we were privileged to witness something that has never happened in this area or in our lifetime. These Humble History Makers ignited a fire across communities that brought us together like we never experienced before. On Dec 5th, in Hattiesburg, MS, we came out in record numbers to rally behind this team as they punched their ticket to the first ever State Championship game. On today, We are asking you to show that support one more time. As you know, Leflore County is an area with limited resources. However, we have always excelled beyond our limitations. We are often judged by our resources and not our ability. This year they said our team were the underdogs, but their ability proved they were Champions. So let’s band together and show these young men they are appreciated! Many of you have already reached out and expressed your desire to contribute to celebrating this team. We would like to raise money to ensure the team and coaching staff receive memorabilia jackets and championship rings. We are seeking the most cost effective options, but this is a task that will require the same extraordinary support we saw in the stands on December 5, 2021. At this time, we anticipate the total cost for each member will average around $500 per person. Therefore, the targeted goal is $25,000. No contribution is too big or too small. Celebrate this team to the best of YOUR ability. Remember, we are more than our resources! We are more than our zip code! We are who we decide we are! We all decided on December 5, 2021 in Hattiesburg, MS we were all Champions! Regardless what high school you attended or where you live, we all represented the heart and soul of Champions. I believe we will, but, if we never experience this again, let’s make sure we make it count. Let’s make sure it counts for this team and any other team from this area that repeats this success. We are one, and, in the words of Coach House, WE DO NOT LOSE!!!
