When the Giver Needs Saving: Supporting Sabrina Haas in Her Toughest Fight

​Sabrina has always been the caregiver. For years, she has been a tireless advocate and rescuer for every creature great and small, and a dedicated daughter, providing round-the-clock care for her beloved father. Her world is built on giving comfort, strength, and hope to others.

*​A Winter of Grief and a Spring of Shock*

​Last December, our family faced an unbearable loss when Sabrina’s mother passed away from cancer. Sabrina navigated the depths of grief while continuing to hold her family together, drawing on a well of strength we all admired.

​Then, the unthinkable happened. On what should have been a day dedicated to honoring her mother’s memory—her mother’s birthday—Sabrina received news that shattered her world: she has been diagnosed with cancer herself.

​This devastating diagnosis is compounded by an ongoing, relentless physical battle that threatens her well-being every single day.

​Sabrina has a long history of fighting tumors, which required three previous neck surgeries and intensive radiation treatment. While that radiation was life-saving, it has left a destructive legacy: she is currently fighting a severe necrosis neck infection—a condition where the skin and tissue are literally dying and being eaten away.

​Because of the heavy scar tissue and damage from the previous radiation, her body cannot naturally heal the wound. It is an extremely slow, painful, and dangerous process that requires highly specialized and expensive intervention.

​The Urgent Need for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO)

​We are at a critical juncture. The overwhelming grief, the new cancer diagnosis, and the constant, slow degradation of her neck have put our family at a total loss. We are fighting to save Sabrina’s ability to heal and her life, but we cannot do it alone.

​The immediate, critical therapy needed to address the necrosis and prepare her body for the future breast cancer surgery is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO).
