Michael Blount has been the rhythmic soul of our community for years — teaching drumming to children in Philly schools, sharing his gift in neighborhood classes, and lifting spirits at Root Dance, drum circles, and gatherings near and far. Recently, he suffered a serious arm injury that will keep him from drumming — and from earning his living — while he heals. For someone whose work and joy are inseparable, this is a painful and uncertain time.
