As some of you know or may not know, my cousin committed suicide six weeks ago. Unfortunately another tragedy has occurred. My step father Brain Roberge suffered a witnessed vf cardiac arrest in front of my mom a few days ago. She did immediate CPR on him as 911 was on the way. He was transferred first to Trenton hospital stabilized and the went to Kingston General Hospital. Brain went in to the Cath lab and received two stents in his RCA which was 100% blocked. The physicians explained to us that Brains heart attack was very large and it would be minute by minute and wait and see.
Well, a couple hours went by again and he suffered multiple arrhythmias that require further shocking. He went back into the Cath lab to check stents and place a balloon pump and temporary pacemaker to help give the heart a rest. He came out of the lab and once again was told we don't know the outcome. As a nurse, and as a daughter this was even too much for me to handle. Brain had every possible doctor on hand trying to save his life. He never really stabilized and continue to go into VF arrest. HIs right ventricle would just no longer pump. Watching my mom beg him not to leave her was probably one of the most painful things I have ever had to endure. One of the more difficult things was Brain was 67 and healthy, not on any medications. The shock and disbelief is very real to this family.
Although, Brain had some things set up for retirement nobody expects to die this young. I am asking my friends and family to help donate to help cover the funeral/cremation costs. We are all broken by this. My mom has already lost five pounds in days. I am reaching out to my community, friends and family to help during this terrible time. If only you can give up your Starbucks for a day and donate... anything would be considered a blessing
Love life like Brian did. Everyday he would enjoy nature and the beauty of my mom. He was so caring and giving to everybody, its your turn that we give this to you Brain .
With broken hearts
Beverley
