A call for love and support for David, Janine and Family

Hi, my name is Donna Tammaro and my brother David Tammaro, his fiancée Janine Kaplinger, and her son Dylan were involved in a very serious car accident on Saturday morning. My brother, Janine, and Dylan were heading to the airport. Dave and Janine were looking forward to the yearly trip they take while Janine, who's a teacher, is on school break. Dylan was their ride to the airport. Dave was driving so Dylan could enjoy his breakfast sandwich, while Janine and Dave chatted excitedly about how they couldn't wait to be on an island for a week. And in an instant, that all changed. They were hit by a driver that was going more than 100 miles an hour and was weaving in and out of lanes on Rt 24 at 5:30 in the morning. The vehicle flipped 3 times before landing upside down in the wooded area. They needed the jaws of life to get my brother out, and he sustained a spinal cord injury which left him without use of his lower body. Janine and Dylan were both also seriously injured. Dave underwent emergency surgery to repair some of the damage to his spinal cord. Janine will need multiple surgeries on her neck and foot and is dealing with severe pain from broken ribs, nose, and tailbone. Dylan may also need to have surgery for a cervical break and is healing from a small brain bleed. All three will need extensive rehab after leaving the hospital. My brother's injuries have left him unable to walk. He is a self-employed wallpaper hanger and painter with an amazing clientele. Unfortunately, this will no longer be possible; even if he regains some mobility, he will no longer be able to continue this line of work. Before Dave is even released from rehab, numerous changes to their home will need to take place: a bigger entry, a ramp to the door, and many more modifications to their home, as well as normal expenses with no income coming in. If you know Dave and Janine and their love for life and kicking it on the dance floor, playing with their grandson Noah, and spending time with their children Briana, Derek, Josh, Jess and Dylan, this will change so much but their love for each other will get them through these extremely difficult times.

I am asking our family and friends to help us with some of these expenses. We know times are tough, but even a small donation or a share will be helpful. I pray for Dave, Janine, and Dylan to make a full recovery and ask for you to do the same.
