Jackson’s Fight Against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
If you know Jackson, you know he’s the sweetest, most compassionate kid and always thinking of others before himself. Now, we’re asking for support on his behalf as he fights Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. We're incredibly thankful for any kindness.
On April 22nd, during a routine pediatric check-up, a bump was discovered on Jackson’s neck. His doctor recommended an ultrasound. Just a few days later, we had the ultrasound and were immediately sent to the emergency room.
After a series of tests, we received devastating news: Jackson had Lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. We remain in a state of disbelief.
Jackson was a vibrant, healthy, and active 12-year-old with no warning signs. Just days before, he was riding go-karts, playing basketball and biking around the neighborhood. That’s what makes this all so frightening.
Jackson will remain in the hospital until the chemotherapy shrinks his lymph nodes enough for him to safely breathe on his own at home. Jackson will also be hospitalized for three days during each chemotherapy cycle in the months to come.
Due to Jackson’s extended ICU stay (nearly 2 weeks) and the future hospitalizations ahead, we’re reaching out to those who may be in a position to help. We’ll be facing substantial out-of-pocket costs for his care.
The one bright light in all of this is that Jackson’s medical team is optimistic about his recovery. While the road ahead will be long and difficult, he is strong, resilient, and was in great health before his diagnosis. And, most importantly, he is surrounded by a loving circle of family and friends ready to walk this journey with him. Please continue to pray for his recovery!
We'll keep sharing updates along the way.
With love and gratitude,
Adam, Jennae, Jackson and Evan
