I’m Toby — aka Legless. As some of you are aware I'm currently waiting for surgery. I’ve been off my prosthetics, unable to work and wheelchair-bound since mid-August. The wait time for my surgery is currently between 3 to 12 months, not including the recovery afterwards.

I was born a double below-knee amputee (35 years now), and my current wheelchair, which is over 15 years old — is too big, heavy, and falling apart. With NHS wait times for wheelchair assessments and replacements being 6+months I’m hoping to raise funds for a made-to-measure wheelchair that will give me greater independence, comfort, and a better quality of life.

It’s been a challenging time both physically and mentally as I'm currently stuck on pause and find myself housebound unless I have someone with me get the old wheelchair in/out the house and then car.

The cost of my new wheelchair is just over £6000 which as you can imagine isn't money you find down the back of the sofa

Anything you could donate towards my goal of obtaining new wheels is beyond appreciated!
