A Van for Dani

My name is Linda Heck and I carpool with my friend Dani Davis.  Dani and I both teach students with special needs in Flint Michigan.  Dani has cerbral palsy herself which is why she has such empathy with our students.  However, she doesn't let her impairment define her or her life. Lately things have been rough in Flint, but Dani goes to work every day with a great attitude. She loves teaching ELA and social studies to our students, many of whom are cognitively and physically impaired.

Dani is incredibly independent and lives alone  with the aid of a service dog.  Vail was her last service and died suddenly of cancer in December.  Vail's medical bills wiped out much of Dani's savings.  On top of all that, in the last few months Dani's van has started to need significant repairs.   She is currently driving a Grand Caravan that is starting to fall apart. She depserately needs a new van to get to work.  She is starting to save up money again, but her new dog will be arriving shortly and vet bills will start up again.
I am asking friends and strangers to help fund a new van so Dani can continue to live as  independently as possible.  She has worked hard all her life to get to where she is and it is heart breaking to watch her struggle for money .  She is too independent to ask for herself so I am asking for her.  She is the most generous person I know and has often contributed to helping others,   Right now, however, she is the one who needs help.  
Dani is looking at the MV1 which is a van BUILT for wheelchair access instead of a conversion.  I am hoping her current van will last long enough to raise money to help purchase a new van.
