Wheels 4 Thomas

Thomas is a happy young man who lives in Niagara Falls with his family. Because he has Cerebral Palsy he isn't able to use his arms or legs and relies on a wheelchair that others push to get him around his community. Because he cannot speak he uses a Dynavox that is controlled by his eyes. Despite the huge limitations that were put on him from birth, making him dependent on his family for everything, he still manages to be a very positive influence on everyone that he meets. 

Thomas has scoliosis from his condition and now that he has outgrown his car seat it causes him a lot of discomfort. Every trip results in tears - sometimes for hours.  Therefore, his trips anywhere have been curtailed, except for necessary appointments, which isn't fair to him. He loves to get out in his community, to go camping with familiy and friends, and to be involved. To increase his freedom of movement, and from unnecessary pain, he needs to be transported in a van that his wheelchair can be lifted into. 

His family has always tried to take care of things without asking for help but the cost of the van and the wheelchair lifting device is just too high. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Let's give Thomas back his freedom and joy!
