Wheels Up To Help Steve!

Donation protected
Dear friends and family and other supporters of Steve (a.k.a. Wheels),

If you know Steve, you know he is sweet, generous, humble, and kind. When you see Steve, you take in his beaming smile, palpable energy, and big bear hugs. When you first meet Steve, you feel like you’ve already known him, because that’s how he makes you feel. And when you hear Steve, you can’t miss his mega talent as a guitar player extraordinaire. A loyal friend, a supportive and steady partner, a loving Dad, Steve is the first one to jump up and help others, and now it’s our turn to help him.

Steve is facing extenuating medical challenges starting with open heart surgery. This news was an unexpected and recent discovery, and has upended his life to say the least. Thankfully, the surgery on April 2nd went well, but the recovery is long, and he will be unable to work for an extended period of time. You may or may not know that Steve is also an accomplished film editor and has worked in that industry for decades, in addition to being a working musician. Steve and his wonderful partner Kim are a great team. Kim is his rock, and she will be by his side throughout this whole process, and hopefully they will be able to get back to their love of hiking, biking, and spending precious time with friends and family before too long. But for now, with medical expenses and living expenses sure to add up, friends have stepped up to help and this GoFundMe was started.

Like we said, Steve is the first one to jump up and help others, but he’s also probably the last one to ask for help for himself. Fortunately, he has a wide network, and we are hoping to cast the net into that audience to help ease the financial burdens and reduce the additional stress in the weeks and months ahead.

Please contribute if you can. Any amount is helpful.

If you’re not able to make a donation, no worries.

Another way to help is to share this GoFundMe with others that know Steve, or know of him through the various circles he travels in.

We’ve also started a Meal Train for anyone who would like to prepare meals (it’s a platform where people can sign up to bring meals over). Here is the link: https://mealtrain.com/63217y

The music community and wider community in the region mean the world to Steve and Kim. Spreading the word about this GoFundMe will hopefully echo and reverberate out and back, like the sound of Steve’s guitar playing out to the hillside in Schwenksville and the audience cheering it on. Whether playing gigs and festivals in one of several bands that he is in, or jamming with friends at Philly Folk Fest or at John & Peter’s, Steve has been a beloved musician and friend in the region for decades, and we all hope that he’ll be ready to tune up the guitar soon.

On behalf of Steve and Kim, we thank everyone so much for your support. Play on!
