Wheels of Hope: Empowering Olivia's Journey

Hi all! I have organized a GoFundMe to assist my dear friend and fellow Rett mom with some of the financial burden that comes with having a special needs child. Silvia is the momma bear of all, she is an incredible mom who works tirelessly to care for both her children. Her daughter Briana is off to college, while sweet Olivia, her Rett girl, requires constant attention and support. Those familiar with Silvia and the challenges of the Rett syndrome community understand the exhaustion that comes with caring for these special needs children. Doing it all alone only amplifies the physical, emotional, and financial toll. Olivia's care encompasses every aspect of her life, from feeding, changing, to medication administration and more. As a fellow special needs parent to one of these angels, I can personally attest to the immense strain it puts on our sleep, bodies, mental health, and finances. Anything labeled "special needs" comes with significant additional costs, and all too often, we find ourselves fighting for funding to make our lives a little easier. Recently, Silvia's adaptive van, which had over 200,000 miles on it, broke down beyond repair. She now needs a new van, one that can be adapted to meet Olivia's specific needs. Silvia could greatly benefit from our support in alleviating the financial burden of acquiring a newer adapted van.
