Wheels of Hope: A Van for Independence

Donation protected

For the past five years, I have slowly been losing the ability to walk independently. It has now reached the point that I require a power wheelchair to move independently. The only downside of my chair is it is so heavy that our car cannot carry it on a hitch-mounted carrier, nor can it fit inside. We tried a trailer, but we can't park it anywhere close to where we live. The only way for me to be independent outside of the house with my chair is to use a modified wheelchair-accessible van. But they are very expensive, and we do not have the funds to purchase one, not even enough to modify our current car.

My goal is to raise $90,000 to regain my independence. This amount will cover the cost of a new, modified vehicle. However, any donations will help, even if it's just enough to modify our current car.

can8 have set the goal right now to $9,000. As donations come in, it will gradually increase as we achieve incremental steps.
