On Sunday the 6th of July 2025 I did the London to Southend Bike Ride. I heard about this organisation when I went to the funeral of the former treasurer of the Ruislip Lido Railway, Graham Lee. The ride was a brilliant day out riding from West ham Park in East London, to Priory Park in Southend on Sea, Essex. The route this year was 56 miles along mainly quiet country roads in Essex. As it is going along country roads it is not the most direct route to Southend, but who wants to ride along main roads anyway! (although some are inevitable!). The route goes through places like Ingatestone, near Chelmsford and past the very picturesque Hanningfield reservoir and through the historic village of Battlesbridge before dropping down into Southend. The weather was not too hot with a little rain, so brilliant cycling weather.
Anyway Wheels for Wellbeing sound like such a great charity for getting people with various disabilities cycling, so I thought why not raise funds for them. Want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit Wheels for Wellbeing, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
