Wheels For The Woodards
Our dear friends, Johnny & Katie Woodard are unexpectedly adopting another child into their home. This came as a surprise and they have not had time to prepare or save for this adoption. Katie is expecting their 6th biological child in just a few short weeks and with this and the arrival of another adopted child, they will no longer fit into their vehicle.
Johnny and Katie are no strangers to adoption, their niece, Zoey was adopted into their family 3 years ago. Zoey has been estranged from her biological brothers and sisters and has longed to be reunited with them, especially her older brother whom she was the closest. It has been on her heart to pray for their ability to see him and God has answered this child’s prayer.
The Woodards have been asked to take custody of their nephew, and Zoey’s 13 year old brother, Zeek. Without the bat of an eye, they have welcomed him with open arms into their home and I have personally been blessed to see how quickly Zeek has assimilated into their family. He is so excited at the promise of being a Woodard and to be loved like their children are loved. He already calls them both mom and dad and my only comparison of his joy would be to that of someone who has just won the lottery. Even the counselors have remarked that he has never seemed so happy. God has great things planned for Zeek, and all of the Woodards, but they are in need of some help. They are in need of a new {to them} larger vehicle: a 15 passenger van. They have found a used van, one that is very affordable at only about $4,500 but still need at least $1,000 - $1,500 to be able to afford it.
If you have ever desired to help a family who is doing as scripture commands - to care for the widow and the orphan, you will never find another family as deserving as this one. I have seen Johnny and Katie give of their time, resources, and work to others even when it seems they don’t have any more to give. And, as God always does, and says He will do, he always returns their giving exponentially. I have no doubt that I have some friends and family that have felt a stirring to give and are just looking for some place to sow that seed and I hope you will prayerfully consider this family. Any amount will help, nothing is too small - and many hands {and dollars} make light work.
