Who We Are:

We are Cindy Knight, a teacher at an independent school in Bellevue, Washington, and her sons Rick and Chuck.
Why We’re Here:
We love the Puget Sound area and its gorgeous landscapes, but all that beautiful hilly terrain can be a real challenge to navigate for those with limited mobility. Cindy lives with multiple sclerosis, and her workplace consists of several buildings situated up and down a hillside. The school where she teaches has made sure her office, classroom, and parking are as close together as possible, but getting between buildings is still something she just has to do and can really wipe her out. That’s energy she can’t spend doing what she does best—teaching!
Her doctors have recommended a scooter for getting around the school. They worked to help her get one, but her medical insurance company (Kaiser Permanente) has declined to cover it. As a result of that, we are here to find a way for her to have a scooter in time for the 2018/2019 school year.
What We Need:

We have been doing research and working with the scooter vendor to determine which model would be the best fit, and have narrowed it down to the Pride Mobility Go-Go Sport 4-wheel: https://www.pridemobility.com/p/go-go-sport-4-wheel
This model is sturdy enough to handle the hills, while being lightweight enough to disassemble and transport in her car.
We need $2000 to purchase the scooter, and we’re hoping that you can help us reach that goal. Even a small amount will really help! If any money is donated beyond the $2000 goal, at least 50% will be donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society , to help them put other people in touch with resources needed to live well with MS. Some of the surplus may also be used to alleviate the burden of Cindy’s ongoing significant medical expenses.
Thanks so much for helping our family out!
