Oh my Cynthia, how you enjoy life and spending time with family! For those of you that don't know my daughter Cynthia, she has a rare muscular disorder that leaves her basically paralized. She is extreamly bright and charismatic but is stuck in a body that doesn't function. Unfortunately the hard realization came to me when our van broke down while visiting my parents up north and almost left us stranded. (Cynthia loves going up there to see her cousins and grandparents!)
When you have a child that requires the use of a ventillator (life support) a reliable vehicle is a must and our accessible van that we use for Cynthia is on its last legs. Transportaion is not only a necessity to access medical appointments it also aids in Cynthia's quality of life. Cynthia is a vibrant teenager that loves the mall, going to the movies, bowling as well as many other activities. Anyone that knows Cynthia can't help but be drawn to her kind, empathetic nature. She has endured so much already in her 14 years of life and I want to be able to continue making so many more great memories with her as a family. Unfortunately the government has no more funding available for us as we used two charities (President's Choice Children's Charity & March of Dimes) almost 10 years ago to aquire our existing accessible van. The Money raised through this campaign will go towards the purchase of a new accessible van for Cynthia so that she can continue to live a full life and not be restricted to her home. These vans are so very expensive and unattainable for me to buy outright, that is why I'm having to reach out to my friends, family and community to ask for help in offsetting the cost. Thank you in advance as any donation will help towards our goal! Xoxo
