Wheeler School's 2024 Hope for Haiti

Patriote de la Zone is a school for children in the Vergeon Valley, a remote region in the mountains of southeastern Haiti. Founded in 2002 by Haitian ex-pats living in Providence, RI with the express goal of building a school where none existed. Since 2010 the school has provided Haitian students with the opportunity to learn and read and write. Currently, the school teaches preK - 8th-grade with an enrollment of over 550 students. Patriote de la Zone's mission and commitment are to improve the lives of Haitian children, their families, and their community through education.

Wheeler School's annual Hope for Haiti fundraiser has supported Patriote de la Zone since 2011. The fundraising event features music, dance, and spoken word performances by Wheeler students and faculty in addition to the sale of student artwork with all proceeds going to promote Patriote de la Zone's educational mission.
